Playing BIG

As we move into spring, a time for growth in nature, I am always reminded that it's time for me to expand my
performance.  To stay stagnant would be boring, yet easy.  To grow takes that extra little push - like a flower breaking through the soil.

I don't know about you, but when things get a bit tough, and I have to push a bit harder, there's a part of me - a little voice in my head chattering 'Take the easy way.  Who are you to think that you can be greater?'  There's a part of me that wants to stay small because it's easier.  Yet I know, for me to really get the most out of my life, I need to play big.

Whenever I'm in this mindset, I like to refer to the following poem by Marianne Williamson:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
