Sometimes you gotta do what you don't wanna do . . .

I'm going to be perfectly honest: I don't want to be writing this right now.  I was in bed just about to fall asleep when I realized, in all my excitment of the success in my first University Masters group seminar, I totally forgot to write this earlier.  And all of me wanted to just wait for tomorrow to send it out.

"No one will notice," I thought to myself.  "What's the big deal of I just push it off for one day?"

But I got my butt out of bed because the doing of those things that you sometimes don't want to do is what separates the high performers from the rest.  Period.  It's easy to push off to tomorrow what you could do today, isn't it?  But the catch is that that thing doesn't get done, and maybe never gets done.  Success is a result of your actions, and those actions require a certain commitment, especially if there's something you'd rather do.

I am committed to being successfull in all that I do, and I am also committed to everyone on earth playing full-out in their lives.  It is from my commitment that I chose to get out of bed tonight to send out this Performance Pointer.

Vince Lombardi, known as the greatest football player of all time, said it best:

"The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of
strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will."

So what are you committed to?  What will drive your 'will' when there's other things that you might rather do?  If you can connect with your source of commitment, then making the choice of short term 'pain' for longterm gain will become much easier.

Good night.  I can now sleep tight knowing I did what I said I'd do, and feeling accomplished for taking another step towards fulfilling on my purpose.

Love,
Coach Kara
