I can watch the Olympics with no regrets . . .

About 9 months ago I was gifted a conversation with one of my favourite people and mentors that set me up so powerfully to enjoy these London Olympics in which I had always intended to compete.  I had 'retired' based on my circumstances (as the victim) about 1 year prior, carrying around the 'what ifs' and resentment for that full year, and foreseeably for the rest of my life.

In that moment, I was reminded I had a choice: I could go back to competing and qualify for London, or retire by my own choosing.  I CHOSE to retire and, in so doing, my life opened up.  The trick was in the choosing for myself, versus the sense that something was 'happening' to me.  In choosing, I was given control of my life and was left with a new-found power over my experience.

Sure, when I watch the 2012 Olympics I'd love to be competing at that level.  And, when I have people come up to me saying 'I was hoping to watch you in the Olympics this year', I respond 'That would have been great', because it really would have.  But, there's no pain or regret, only an excitement as I watch friends and former competitors battle it out for Olympic Gold.

In watching the Olympic games, I am reminded of how grateful I am to you James, and also to Landmark Education (www.landmarkeducation.com), for giving me the gift of living my life full out, free from regrets and in the knowing that I still have great things to accomplish.

If there's any part of your life that you want to take to the next level, or that you want to move past, I urge you to check out Landmark Education.
